We have collaborated with Children Nepal Suryamukhi Handicrafts.
We have enabled Children Nepal to deliver three months sewing training.
The unprivileged women are learning to make school uniform which can then be sold to local schools, this enables the women to generate a regular income.
The three month training programme had already started so we were thrilled to meet some of the 13 women, and their talented sewing teacher who is helping them throughout their training.
We were given a wonderful hand puppet of a child in school uniform and scarfs to send thanks and blessings.
My links go back almost twenty years with Children Nepal, there was always a celebration of the Kings Birthday and a street party. I discovered Children Nepal because they had a stall selling products that women produced and later went and visited them and saw some of the work they were doing with children and for children.
Over the years as a family we would visit and see the work they were doing and watch them expand. Bring Back the Smile to Nepal is very pleased to be given the opportunity to work with such positive projects, improving lives for women.
