The Perthshire based charity, Bring Back The Smile To Nepal, started by Anna and Sanu Gurung from Kenmore, are asking school children to organise their own sponsored sleepovers on the weekend of 23-25 October.

“The 25th October marks the six month point since the huge earthquake that killed at least 9,000 people and left so many homeless”, reported Charity spokesman Mark Bridgeman, “ we felt a sponsored sleepover would give children a chance to spend one night with their friends, perhaps in a sleeping bag, sparing a thought for just how long countless children in Nepal have endured nights without a proper roof over their heads.”

The charity would like children to organise their own sleepovers with their friends, raise money through sponsorship and, of course, have some fun too!

“We like to see your sleepover selfies too!” said Mark, “we’d love you to post them on our facebook page!”

Anna Gurung, the founder of Bring Back The Smile To Nepal, recently visited the country to oversee work the charity has undertaken to help rebuild homes for 79 families. “ We hope to help many, many more in the near future”, said Anna, “ but we can only do this with your support, events like our sponsored sleepover can help us to do this.”

Anna has recently appeared on STV, and as an after dinner speaker, discussing her trip to Nepal.

Sponsorship forms can be downloaded from the charity’s website, facebook or picked up from local schools.
